Your Scottsdale wedding beauty timeline, from six months out to the big day

Your Scottsdale wedding beauty timeline, from six months out to the big day

After more than 400 weddings at resorts, ranches and backyards across the Valley, I can tell you the brides who feel most relaxed on the morning of their wedding all have one thing in common. They planned their beauty prep with the same care they gave the flowers and the venue. Here is the timeline we give every Maison Aurelle bride, adjusted for the realities of getting married in the desert.

Six to nine months before

Book your makeup and hair artists first. October through April is peak wedding season in Scottsdale, and the most requested artists fill Saturdays months in advance. Ask whether they travel to your venue, what the fees are for bridal party members and whether a trial is included.

This is also the right moment to start a skincare plan. If you are dealing with congestion, pigmentation or sun damage, a series of monthly facials gives you time to see real change. Starting three weeks before the wedding does not.

Three to four months before

  • Begin monthly facials if you have not already. Our Clarifying Peel or LED Glow Facial are great for evening tone.
  • Try a brow lamination or tint to see if you like the look, well before it matters.
  • If you want lash extensions for the day, do a test set now to check your eyes tolerate the adhesive.
  • Book any injectables or laser treatments with your provider now, not in the final month.

Six to eight weeks before: your makeup trial

Bring photos of looks you love and ones you do not, a picture of your dress, and ideally your veil or hair accessory. Wear a white or light top so you can see how the makeup reads against your neckline. Schedule the trial in the morning if your ceremony is outdoors in daylight, and take photos both inside and outside before you leave.

Think about the setting. An outdoor ceremony at 4 pm in October can still reach 90 degrees, so we choose long-wear, sweat-resistant formulas and set everything in thin layers rather than piling on powder.

The goal of a trial is not perfection. It is making every decision now so the wedding morning is calm.

Two to three weeks before

  • Final brow shaping and tint.
  • Lash lift or full extension set, so they settle before the day.
  • Any waxing that might cause redness, such as bikini or underarm.
  • Your last peel or exfoliating facial. No stronger treatments after this point.

The week of the wedding

Five to seven days before, book a gentle hydrating facial with no extractions. Our Desert Hydration Facial is designed for exactly this. Skin looks plump and calm without any risk of breakouts or irritation surfacing on the day.

Two to three days before, get your gel manicure and pedicure. A massage midweek is one of the best things you can do for stress and sleep. Drink more water than you think you need, go easy on salty food and alcohol at the rehearsal dinner, and keep up your usual skincare without trying anything new.

What to skip the week of

  • New skincare products or active ingredients.
  • Extractions, peels or microneedling.
  • Self-tanning for the first time. Test it at least a month before.
  • Facial waxing within 48 hours of the wedding.
  • Long sun exposure. Even a light burn changes how foundation looks.

The morning of

Wash your hair the night before unless your stylist asks otherwise, since second-day hair holds curls and updos better. Arrive with a clean, moisturized face and no makeup. Eat a real breakfast, wear a button-up shirt so you can change without disturbing your hair, and let your coordinator handle the timeline.

We build in 15 extra minutes for every bride and stay for first-look photos so any touch-ups happen right away. Then we leave you with a small kit with your lip color, blotting papers and powder for the reception. All that is left is to enjoy it.
